Summer Geometry Assignment 2017
Welcome to Geometry! We are going to have a GREAT year -- this assignment is designed to help you be fully prepared.
Sometimes skipping 7th and 8th grade math leaves holes in your understanding of basic mathematical concepts. These summer lessons are designed to help you fill these holes and be FULLY prepared for 10th grade Geometry. All of these lessons are concepts that are taught and practiced in 8th grade math. I want you to have the best shot at being successful next year, and completing these lessons is one way to accomplish that!
Grab a spiral notebook and keep track of your work for these lessons. My expectation is that your work is shown. There will be an assessment over these lessons the first week of school. The links below will provide you with videos for each topic as well as solutions for all of the problems.
Please do all problems in the "Guided Practice" sections PLUS all problems marked with the light bulb in the "Practice and Problem Solving" sections:
Lesson 1 - 6 Order of Operations
Lesson 7 - 1 Integer Exponents
Lesson 7 - 2 Powers of 10 and Scientific Notation
Lesson 7 - 3 Multiplication Properties of Exponents
Lesson 7 - 4 Division Properties of Exponents
Lesson 12 - 1 Reflections
Lesson 12 - 2 Translations
Lesson 12 - 3 Rotation
